Room-in-roof insulation in Stirling & Clackmannanshire

Bridge of Allan and Dunblane villas and the dormer bungalows around Stirling often have attic bedrooms with cold sloping ceilings.

We cover Stirling, Bridge of Allan, Dunblane, Callander, Bannockburn, Alloa and Tillicoultry. More about our work in Stirling & Clackmannanshire.

What we insulate

A room in the roof loses heat through five surfaces: the sloping coombs, the flat ceiling above, the dwarf walls, the gables and the eaves spaces behind the dwarf walls. Most are bare or barely insulated.

  • Coombs: PIR or wood fibre between the rafters with a ventilation gap, plus a layer under the rafters to stop cold bridging.
  • Dwarf walls and gables: insulated and boarded on the cold side.
  • Eaves and flat ceiling: mineral wool or wool to the depth each needs.

Then plasterboard, ready for skim. It's joinery from start to finish, which is what we do. More on room-in-roof insulation.
